Feeling Fab, 30 Day Shred, and ZUMBA!

Apologies for leaving you without for these last three weeks. After Easter it seems like life just zoomed on past me. Although I am sure, it is mostly family that read this, lol (thanks though to ALL of you who read this!). I have had time to write a blog, but when I do, I am mentally tired and don't want to make my brain work long enough to do a blog, so I just lay down and watch Netflix (the best thing since rentals and reruns).

Well no longer! I may be super tired at the moment, but I am going to write this blog, or so help me.....I'll just go to bed, haha.

First off!
I am no longer doing the HCG Diet. I know that is one of the main things my blog talked about, and I still think it is a great diet, my Mother-in-law is on her second round and is just a few pounds away from her goal and has her bikini bod! Yay Julia! But it turns out that I don't think that I can do it, not because I wasn't following protocol, but when I started Round Two and was following protocol, I started bleeding, like Aunt Flow was here (and I know she wasn't, I'd just seen her the week before). I thought maybe it was my body reacting to weighing less, as that is one thing that being overweight changes, but one day at work I started bleeding very heave and I got shaky, lightheaded, and had blurry vision. After I ate and sat down a bit, I decided that I am not going ot try to keep it up, my body may have done GREAT in round one, but it knew what round two was all about and wasn't going for it.

As discouraging as that is I will not be deterred! Instead I scoured the Internet for the next thing I could do to get to my goal. And I found it, or them! Both things I am getting on amazon and can do at home, so I don't have to worry about fee's or daycare or being opened or closed.
The first thing I got is this:

I already got it and am starting it Monday with once a day workouts, moving up to twice a day work out in a week or two.
But that's not all! I am going to order, get, and make one of the twice a day workouts this:

Now, I don't know about you, but I don't dance, but i like music that makes be wiggle around the house while I clean, and my son LOVES music and dancing to ANY kind of music, so to me its a win-win. This is what Zumba is: (taken from amazon.com)

Zumba Fitness® is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive. Since its inception in 2001, Zumba Fitness has grown to become the world's largest and most successful dance-fitness program with more than 10 million people of all shapes, sizes, and ages taking weekly Zumba classes in over 90,000 locations across more than 110 countries.
As a fitness instructor in his native Cali, Colombia, the life of Zumba program's founder, Alberto "Beto" Perez, took an unexpected turn one fateful day in the mid-'90s. He darted off to teach an aerobics class and forgot his traditional aerobics music, so he improvised using his own mix of music from tapes he had in his backpack (the salsa and merengue music he grew up with). Spontaneously, he created a new kind of dance-fitness, one that focused on letting the music move you (instead of counting reps over the music). Energy electrified the room; people couldn't stop smiling. His class loved it! And on that day, a revolutionary new fitness concept was born--the Zumba Fitness-Party.
In 2001, Beto brought his new dance-fitness style to Miami, Florida, and, through a student (Alberto Perlman's mom), met entrepreneurs Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion. All three hailed from Colombia and all three had a vision to bring this dynamic dance-fitness class to the masses. The three Albertos formed an alliance and created a business, calling it Zumba Fitness. They trademarked the word Zumba® and set a goal to expand the brand all over the world. First came the DVDs, then the infomercial--which introduced the Zumba Fitness-Party to the public on a wide-scale basis. That followed with the demand for Zumba classes and Zumba instructors and then the company took off and the Zumba program expanded in a big way. By 2005, Zumba Fitness spawned a full-fledged Zumba Academy to license Zumba Instructors to teach Zumba classes. More expansion followed with the launch of Zumbawear apparel and accessories, music CDs, and in 2008, one of the bestselling at-home fitness DVD series ever--the Zumba Fitness® Total Body Transformation System--which starred Beto and introduced Zumba Fitness' newest stars, Tanya Beardsley and Gina Grant. In 2010, Zumba shook the ground by being the first branded fitness program to launch a video game on all three major gaming platforms: Wii, Xbox, and PS3.
Fast forward to today, the Zumba program is now taught in gyms and studios all over the world to millions of Zumba enthusiasts. And as the program continues to evolve from its humble beginnings, to a global movement, to a way of life--its growth has only deepened the company's commitment to providing accessible fitness, without the strain, without the sacrifice, just the pure joy of a party.

How sweet does that sound? I love the idea that I will be having fun with music, dancing around my living room and bedroom as an exercise and having fun with my son all at the same time! I am going to order the kit once I get the money from the trade-in I am doing with an old textbook (Yay for textbook trade-in on amazon!) Want a Zumba video?! Here you go! Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System DVD Set

I am super super excited to get this and start it, ahahaha, and I am sure that my Husband will laugh, roll his eyes, and SECRETLY be jealous of my soon to come dance moves! But he won't argue with the results I am sure I will see!

And I have to share myself with you too! I got a few new things the other day for FREE on craigslist (don't you LOVE free stuff?!?) and I felt fabulous that day too, having just gotten my financial aid and class for my summer semester all settled and taken care of, so I took some pictures! I look good with the 27lbs off, and soon it will be even more!

Diets and School

I have been extremely busy this last few weeks. Work, school, and being a Mother and Wife take so much time, that when I do have a few seconds, I like to do nothing. Haha. So this is my blog mash-up.

As far as dieting go, I could not stick to the protocol as well as the first round, so instead of wasting my drops, because that's what I was doing, I stopped the VLCD for a few more weeks until I can 'feel' the diet too. I am still planning on being down in the 160's by our family vacation to Port O'Connor over the 4th of July. I am so excited about it! I will be restarting the Round Two in a few days with renewed vigor and determination. Everybody hits a wall and I hit mine, but will overcome it without question, I am sure of it.

School is crazy right now. My financial aid is not coming through right now, and registration IS right now, so I am struggling trying to set up payment plans and pay deposits so I can at least take the classes. I hope the financial aid comes through soon tough, Josh and I have so many bills already that the only way to take all these classes is with financial aid! That's why we signed up for it!

My Goodness, What a Tough Week

I knew Round Two would be harder, but I didn't foresee how much harder. I feel like I'm committed, but my body in automatically against me and doing what it can to NOT follow protocol. I really REALLY can not wait to be done with this round. Today was a hard day for me. I cheated, and I didn't even do it on purpose! I didn't realize what I was doing until I already swallowed. I made Christopher some mac'n'cheese for dinner and when I was done cooking it, I just took a huge ol' bite to taste it and temp it, something I used to do automatically. So I know I will be gaining or losing nothing, which bites, because today I only lost 0.2lbs, and was hoping for more tomorrow..... Boo.

But I still HAVE lost weight. I
If I hadn't I'd be ranting about it, haha. Although I am not losing as much or as fast with this round as round one, I am still losing, thank goodness. When I weight myself this morning the grand total so far for Round Two was 8lbs even. Down to 184.4; Just 17 away from my 25lb goal for this round. I just really REALLY want to be UNDER 170 when I finish this round. Even if it's 169.8lbs. haha. But really 167, so if I gain my anticipated 2lbs during maintenance, I am still under 170. :D That's about where I was four and a half years ago, when I met my husband for the first time, I remember, although I knew I could lose a few more lbs, I felt great about myself and the clothes I wore.

I will probably be doing an "Apple Day" tomorrow. I just have to go to the store to buy some apples. Lets re-kick this round off in week two and lose another eight!!!! WooHoo!

Here are my weekly pictures, you know the rules!

And this girl is from the VERY beginning, Day one, Round One....31-ish pounds ago....

Mini Meatloaf

Yes, that's right, MINI Meatloaf.

When I can only eat 100 grams (about 4oz) of meat per meal, and I have to weigh it raw, its hard to cook things like meatloaf that are multiple portions at a time. Well, I have found my answer; to meatloaf that is. I love meatloaf, I really do! So when I saw this at Micheal's I was stoked!

A mini casserole dish! It was in the children's area, but suits my needs perfectly. It literally is the PERFECT size for 100 grams of meatloaf.

Next to my phone for comparison. It's about as big as an iTouch.

I made the following recipes for my meatloaf, completely Phase Two approved!

Ketchup
Ingredients
3 ounces tomato paste
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
¼ teaspoon celery salt
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon mustard powder
Pinch of nutmeg and clove
Pinch of black pepper
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Stevia to taste

Directions
Dissolve spices in vinegar and lemon juice. Add tomato paste and mix
thoroughly. Add additional lemon juice, vinegar or a little water until
desired consistency is reached.
Makes 2 or more servings (1 vegetable)

Meatloaf
Ingredients
100 grams Ground beef (lean) for each serving
1 serving Melba toast crumbs
1 ketchup recipe (above)
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 clove minced garlic
Cayenne to taste
¼ teaspoon paprika
Directions
Crush Melba toast into fine powder. Mix with the ground beef, chopped
onion and spices. Place in a baking dish, loaf pan or muffin tin for single
servings. Baste with ketchup recipe mixture and bake at 350 for 15-20
minutes. Cook longer for multiple servings using a loaf pan.

I omitted the Cayenne and added a little Cumin, I like that better. :D

There it is, ready to plop in the oven! I did cook it in there for about 20 min too. All I can say is: I can't wait until tomorrow so I can eat it! Nummy!

Round Two: BEGIN!

I have begun the second round of my weight loss, finally! Well, I started on Friday with my two load days, and I feel like I might not have taken the greatest advantage of them, due to the party and family being in town, but I still ate like a pig! Yesterday was my first day of the Very Low Calorie Diet and I already feel like this first week will be harder than the first week from round one. I want to eat/nibble on bad foods so much. I have resisted as of thus far and I believe that I can go with out cheating, but man, this next four weeks will be darn tough!  I want to lose at least 25  more lbs, bringing me down to about 167, and a grand total of about 55lbs lost.

At the end of round one's drop days I was down to 188.8 and for five weeks I maintained it pretty good, starting the load days of round two at 191 and VLCD day one started at 192.2. I will of course be posting weekly on this!

Here are my before pictures. As always, I have heard all the bad things you can say, so you don't have to say a damn thing negative.

I Actually Want to Diet.

I am still in Phase Three of my first round of HCG, and I have to admit; I thought that I would see the six week break between rounds go by to fast for me and that I would dread going into Round Two's VLCD. This has turned out to be false. I can't wait to start Round Two. I can't wait to start losing weight again. I've maintained for long enough and I don't want to be the same weight everyday anymore, unless it's my goal weight.  My son turns two in a few days and I have his party planned for the weekend of the ninth so I am doing my Load Days on the same weekend. :D It's about five days before the end of the six weeks but I can't wait any longer!

I bought a new pair of jeans today. Size 14! I haven't bought 14s since I was a teenager! They are snug, but I can button them. I want to fit in the perfectly, or for them to be to big when I am done with round two!
I haven't measured myself lately, but I feel like I have lost a few more inches, even though I am consistently floating a few pounds above my last drop day weight.

Baking Away and still Maintaining!

 Alright, first things first!

I'm two weeks into the 1st three weeks of maintenance and I am still maintaining my weight! I ended my drops at 188.8 and right now am at 190.4. I know that I went up because I refuse to count my calories. I know people say too, but I am not. I don't want to be stuck calorie counting forever (like the red book says people should). I want to eat food, and just know what to have and what not to have. I have had to do a steak day once and that is because I was baking a cake and making a homemade marshmallow fondant and buttercream icing that I tasted a little to much. Haha. It was good though.

I ordered and got in my drops for rounds two and three.

I bought them in advance because of all this BS going on with the FDA and the companies that make the drops discontinuing them...... grrrr.

I will be done with round two (completely) a week before my family vacation to the coast for the 4th of July and I can't wait to take our family pictures and buy my bikini...... I hopefully will be down to 170 by then, and I can't wait.   :D

And I have been so busy baking cake and more cake. I really enjoy it and I am trying to self teach myself everything. I made a Baking Wish List and it is already multiple pages long! Family and I are thinking that, if I can get good enough, I should do a family/friends/referral hobby business! I have to say that idea is very appealing to me (and I would still be going to school for Nursing). I just have no idea what I would call my business. What do you think?? And would you order from me??

New Clothes for Me!

It is a rare day when the following two things happen. 1.) I get to go shopping for me and me only. and 2.) I WANT to go shopping for me.

I used to only buy clothes out of need, and only did the grab and go. I never liked looking at myself in clothes or having to pass every store up because they didn't even have my size. Now I still have more to lose (of course) but I already feel way better and went out with a friend today and went SHOPPING.

If felt so good to be able to just grab things of the rack and be able to try them on. To not have to go to the 'plus size' corner and instead stay in the open area to find clothes. I even got a new bra!

The pictures are blurry, but oh well!

With the mix and match ability I got a total of three outfits! Pretty nice if I say so myself!

today was the first day of my Stabilization Phase and I am enjoying it for sure. I am supposed to maintain the weight of 188.8 and when I weighed in this morning I was down to 187 so I ate two eggs and two slices of turkey bacon. It was scary but good. And totally filled me up.

About half way through the shopping we stopped at Souper Salad and I made my own starch and sugar free salad:

It was sooooooooooo good.

I just feel so good and energized. This diet has changed my life.

Are You Ready For This?

The final week of the HCG Drops are D-O-N-E. Yesterday was my last day on the drops and so this morning is the final weight, the number that I want to maintain, with in 2.1 +/- pounds. 188.8lbs. A grand total loss of 27.4lbs (2.4 for the week).

I am a little bummed that I didn't make it to 30lbs, but I ran out of drops (for one) and I started my period. Being on my period really slowed me down a lot. I didn't lose for three whole days because of it. That really upset me being so close to the end, and I really didn't expect it, my birth control causes me to have little to no period, but they say that overweight people have irregular periods, and so maybe the weight loss is setting my body right.

Either way, being only 2.6lbs away from my goal is still pretty close! I am satisfied with my results and am ready for the maintenance phase of my diet. This is really the true test, because I am giving only the following rules; NO sugars and NO starches. But I can eat when I want and I HAVE to eat more then 500 calories. the average is 1500-2000 calories a day (to maintain the weight??? Wow.) I will probably have to build up to that much, and I know that find foods with no sugars is almost impossible, but I am looking forward to a lot of steak and chicken salads with olives, avocado, ranch, cheese, tomato, and onion. MAYBE some sunflower seeds and bacon too. Sounds so yummy right??? My first meal is going to be at Souper Salad and I am stoked.

Well, here are my final measurements, and I am only posting the areas where I lost:

Upper Chest: Lost 0.5 inches.
Waist: Lost 0.5 inches.
Right Thigh: 0.5 inches.
Right Knee: 0.5 inches.
Left Knee: 0.5inches.
Lower Roll: 1 inch.

Total for the final week: 4 inches.
Grand total  for Round One: 42 (FORTY TWO) INCHES.
That is crazy!

I have gone down from a size 18/20 to a 14/16 in pants/dresses.
I have gone down from an XXL to a L (sometimes XL, depending on brand) in tops.

I feel better, I have way more energy and have to drag my Husband out and about with me. I can bend over to put my shoes on, no more leaning on a wall or sitting down and doing it sideways.

I will do my six weeks Phase Three and start Round Two right away, April 12th and if I do that round for thirty days then I'll hopefully be done another 30 by May 12th, that will bring me down to 158.8lbs! After my maintenance of round two I will have 6 days before our family vacation to the coast! I will have a bikini body (to me at least)! I am really excited about that. I want to try to get to 140 so I will probably do a third short round, OR try it the old fashion way, I haven't chosen, its to far away and seemingly unbelievable.

Here are my pictures from Day ONE and Today!

And Today, while I was at the park. I see a HUGE difference in my face!!

Here is an old one:

My double chin has gotten way smaller!!!!
