To top that, I saw her reach into the wet garbage bag and fish around in there looking for a lost teaspoon. Bare hands - a kind of mad courage. ~Robert Fulghum

Because I feel that in the heavens above
The angels, whispering one to another,

Getting Pumped

I've done it. Ordered my HCG Drops and The HCG Weight Loss Cure Guide by Linda Prinster.

I should get my stuff by the 2nd or so.

I plan on starting on the 7th, but if I get it earlier I might start earlier too. I have most of the things I need, just gotta go to the store to buy some last min stuff. I am super stoaked about this. If it works as well for me as everyone else, well then, I can't wait for swinsuit season! Bahaha.

Let's Get It Off

My weight that is. Teehee, you nasties.

I have decided, after many hours of intensive research, reviewing, and comparisons, what I am going to do to really help kick off/jump start my weight loss and eating/lifestyle change.

Buh Bah BAAH....

The HCG Diet

Now, this is an 'Extereme Diet' in the sense that the typical results are a pound a day. But what makes this different is it also is designed to change the way your body and metabolism work and process food.
The HCG Diet requires a VERY STRICT ADHERENCE to the protocol.
And the protocol is also a VERY STRICT one. I am nervous but very determined. I WILL see the results I want.

Here is what I cut and pasted off of the site I use as to what the Summary of the HCG Diet is. This Diet was originally created by Dr. Simeons (here is the link to the original manuscript Inches and Pounds) 40 years ago and then in recent years Kevin Trudeau has done some tweaking to it. The manuscript was written when it was only by injections given once per day. The same info holds true except that we are using homeopathic hcg drops that you take 3 times a day. All other info is the same!

Summery of the HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) Diet

Read this short summary of the  fully to get a well-rounded understanding of what the HCG diet entails.

Phase 1 (Protocol Preparation Phase)

This is an optional phase that Kevin Trudeau added to the HCG diet plan. You can see his book for more info if you would like. Again it is, completely optional for the DIY HCG diet programs. We do not really think it is necessary.

Phase 2: (Gorge and Very Low Calorie Diet – VLCD Phase)

First 2 Days on HCG -- The Gorge!

Dr. Simeons called it gain before loss “One cannot keep a patient comfortably on 500 Calories unless his normal fat reserves are reasonably well stocked. It is for this reason also that every case, even those that are actually gaining must eat to capacity of the most fattening food they can get down until they have had the third HCG day. It is a fundamental mistake to put a patient on 500 Calories as soon as the injections are started, as it seems to take about three injections before abnormally deposited fat begins to circulate and thus become available.” (p 19) This is very important! If you do not gorge properly (eating as much FATTY food as you can get down), you may be quite miserable the first day or two.

Here is a sample gorge day menu:

  • Breakfast: 3 donuts with 2% milk, sausage, bacon, and a heaping pile pancakes with syrup
  • Snack 1: A Twix Bar
  • Snack 2: A Twinkie
  • Lunch: Pizza, a Caesar salad, and some avocado
  • Snack 3: A pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream
  • Snack 4: A Big Mac or other hamburger & french fries
  • Dinner: Fettuccine Alfredo (for the fatty sauce), garlic bread, and some rich New York Style cheesecake
  • Snack 5: A Snickers bar
  • Snack 6: Some Oreos, some 2% milk, etc.
You get the idea. Fatty, fatty, fatty. Also, be sure to include anything on these gorge days that you think you might crave in the next month. Any restaurant favorites or culinary pleasures you must satiate before your “cleanse”? Go for it!

Day 3 on HCG to minimum 23 days or maximum 42 days on 500 cal diet

Dr. Simeons called these the first days of treatment as these are your first days on the HCG and the very low calorie diet (VLCD for short) phase. In this phase, you will follow this VERY specific diet and weigh everyday to ensure you are progressing as you should be in order to achieve maximum weight loss.

The Food -- You can eat this food and ONLY this food. NO substitutions!

The 500 calorie diet is explained to those patients who will be preparing their own food, and it is most important that the person who will actually cook is present - the wife, the mother or the cook, as the case may be.
Breakfast
Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin (brand name Sweet ‘n’ Low) or Stevia may be used.
Lunch
  1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna*, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be off the bone. *We have found through working with thousands of clients that canned tuna packed in water is okay. We believe that Dr. Simeons said tuna was not allowed because in the 50’s tuna was only packed in oil.
  2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.
  3. One bread stick (grissino), one Melba toast, or 2 Melba “snacks” (original, garlic, whole grain, or sesame flavored)
  4. An apple or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit or 1 orange.
Dinner
The same four choices as lunch.

Other Dietary Notes:

  • The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes.
  • For spices, NATURAL salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, marjoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing. Our HCG Safe Spice is a great option as well!
  • The fruit or the breadstick may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner, but not more than four items listed for lunch and dinner may be eaten at one meal.
  • NO MIXING of vegetables.
  • Vegetable MUST be eaten with the protein.

Drinks on the Protocol

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times. In fact, the patient should drink about 2 liters of these fluids per day. Many patients are afraid to drink so much because they fear that this may make them retain more water. This is a wrong notion as the body is more inclined to store water when the intake falls below its normal requirements.

Spices

For spices, NATURAL salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, marjoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing. Also, NO pre-mixed spice combinations unless you see in a reliable HCG book that they are allowed. For example, the HCG Safe Spice and HCG Diet Cajun Spice sold on diyhcg.com are allowed, but no Lawry’s, Mrs. Dash, etc. You will receive much more information on spices in the DIY HCG Loser’s Manual sent with every HCG Diet Drops order on DIYHCG.com.

Sweeteners

For a great natural sweetener, our choice is Stevia (available at diyhcg.com). Stevia comes in a regular sweetener flavor as well as many other tasty flavors (Berry, Vanilla Crème, English Toffee, and even Chocolate) which can be used in unlimited quantity while on the HCG diet. For an artificial sweetener, brand name Sweet ‘n’ Low may be used and is also allowed in any quantity.

Best Time to Start a Round

If you are a menstruating woman, the best time to start is right after your cycle. Also, keep in mind that you want to start your two gorge days (the first two days you are on HCG) on days when you will have the time and ability to eat as much fatty food as you can get down. We usually recommend starting on the weekend as this is when most people have more free time.

Cosmetics and Hygiene – Great news! With so many suggestions from our customers, we have added many approved products available for you to quickly add to your cart on the HCG Diet Personal Care page of our site!

NOTHING with oils, fats, vitamins, gels, etc. should be eaten or put on the skin. Although this is the general rule, there are some exceptions with the very specific and knowledgeable observance of what chemical ingredients are currently in cosmetic and personal care products. Although it may seem totally odd with this whole litany of rules for cosmetics and oils, you are allowed to use pure mineral oil and baby oil to moisturize while on the HCG diet. There is a much more detailed list in the book you will receive when you order. Also, whether you decide to go with homeopathic HCG or not, you should check out the Checklist for Optimum Performance on the HCG Diet under the Buy HCG Products tab. It lays out everything you will need for the protocol. On it, you will see that we offer a whole host of researched oil-free, fat-free, vitamin-free, and gel-free products for your one-stop-shop convenience at diyhcg.com.
You will also get tons of useful advice for personal care items in the DIY HCG Loser’s manual which is sent with each order of HCG Diet Drops from DIY HCG.com. Go to the “Lotions and Creams and Buttery Soaps, Oh MY!” page for more good info regarding cosmetics on the HCG diet.

Exercise

No exercise is required while on the VLCD phase of the HCG diet. In fact, you are discouraged from starting something new, except walking. You can start walking each day if you would like. If you already have an exercise routine in place, you should be able to continue that. Just watch your weight lifting and excessive rigorous exercise. Just to put it into perspective, Dr. Simeons suggested that his patients wade in the ocean and walk around town as the extent of their exercise while on phase 2.

Massage and Tanning

No and no. No massages on the HCG diet. NO tanning either.

Notes and Finishing Phase 2

In the first week it is normal to have a slight headache (aspirin is allowed) as you are detoxing from sugars, soda, chemicals, etc. You may also feel slightly hungry and a little tired up to day 5 on the VLCD phase of the HCG diet. Again, THIS IS NORMAL and will get better around day 7 when your abnormal fats stores are finally circulating enough fat to feed your body and mind.
Then on the 500 calorie phase of the HCG diet, somewhere between 21 and 42 days, (whenever you decide to stop) –stop taking the HCG for the last three days of the diet to let the HCG exit your system. If you do NOT do these last three days, YOU WILL GAIN.

Phase 3: Maintenance Phase

After the last three days of the 500 calorie diet with NO HCG, start the maintenance phase. Maintenance between round one and two consists of two 3 week periods. The first 3 weeks eat anything you like, except NO SUGARS AND NO STARCHES. Do a steak day whenever you are 2.1 lbs over the last HCG date weight (the weight you were at on the last day you took HCG.
On the second 3 week period you will SLOWLY start adding back in healthy “sugars” and starches and do a steak day whenever you are 2.1 lbs over your last HCG date weight. Now I bet you are dying to know what a “steak day” is. Well I will tell you. A steak day is a day when you eat nothing for lunch or dinner, but drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. Then, in the evening have 1 large steak (8-18 oz) followed by an apple OR a raw tomato. This should set you back in your HCG date weight range.
It is at this weight, the HCG date weight, that you are trying to train your body to maintain over the next six weeks. During the 6 week maintenance phase, losing or gaining more than 2 lbs in maintenance is a no-no. You do not want to lose more than 2 lbs below your last HCG date weight and you also do not want to gain more than 2 lbs over your last HCG date weight. Again, you control the gains with steak days to really lock in your new weight.

Phase 4: Getting on with Life!

This is when you move on with your new, healthy lifestyle in your smaller pants. Continue eating normally. You should be craving healthier foods and a diet full of low fat, lean protein meals now that your hypothalamus and metabolism have been retrained and reset. To control weight for the rest of your life, just weigh yourself daily. If you are up more than 2.1 lbs over your last HCG date weight, you guessed it: do a steak day.

SEE HOW STRICT!!!

Now I KNOW how extreme it sounds, but I read numerous testimonials, talked (via the web) with others who have and are currently doing it with results, AND I knew someone who was doing and saw the results first hand!

This diet take a lot of discipline I know, and I also know there are many sceptics out there (my DH is one of them) and that I am not known to stick to a regime very well, BUT mainly that is cause after two weeks I still see NO WEIGHT LOSS, but weight gain, so I didn't have s desire to continue. If the HCG Diet works as well on me as others, I could be down to 150lbs in 3 cycles!!! (I am not actually shooting for 150 as I don't see that as possible, I was 150 when I was a freshman/sophomore in HS), but based of the calculator DIYHCG.com has and the body fat index, I can be 150 in relevance to my height. My ultimate goal is 165lbs.

Now the only thing that I have major qualms about is the price.....

The HCG is a little steep for me, and the HCG approved spices and dressings DIYHGC.com sells can add up a little (although I can probably find HCG approved items at Whole Foods and use the Lonestar card), after talking to the others who are on it, I have found they are using HCG drops from a seller on EBay, who has certified HCG and they ARE seeing the results too, and only pay about 25 dollars for the one month’s supply of the drops (good for one full Phase 2). I have already put it in my shopping cart and will make my purchase on my next pay day!

I will be posting a detailed blog/vlog (video blog, when I get my camera back) of my journey to, not only hold myself accountable, but to give testimony to its miracle workings or not.

Look for the beginning in a few weeks!
Here are some before and after’s to marvel at:

I started the six weeks HCG Diet at 220 lbs. My blood sugars were running 170-200 while taking diabetic medication. After about three weeks into the program my blood sugar dropped to 90-104. I stopped my medication and still maintain the 90-104 range. I also stopped taking blood pressure medication as my BP is now a healthy 110/68. My clothes fit and I feel great.

You Are My I Love You

 I love this story/poem. I really puts to words my feelings for my son. I love him so much!

You Are my I Love You by Maryann K. Cusimano

"I am your parent;
you are my child.
I am your quiet place;
you are my wild.

I am your calm face;
you are my giggle.
I am your wait;
you are my wiggle.

I am your carriage ride;
you are my king.
I am your push;
you are my swing.

I am your audience;
you are my clown.
I am your London Bridge;
you are my falling down.

I am your carrot sticks;
your are my licorice.
I am your dandelion;
your are my first wish.

I am your water wings;
you are my deep.
I am your open arms;
your are my running leap.

I am your way home;
your are my new path.
I am your dry towel;
you are my wet bath.

I am your dinner;
you are my chocolate cake.
I am your bedtime,
you are my wide awake.

I am your finish line;
you are my race.
I am your praying hands;
you are my saying grace.

I am your favorite book;
you are my new lines.
I am your night-light;
you are my starshine.

I am your lullaby;
you are my peekaboo.
I am your good-night kiss;
you are my I Love You."

A few of his Favorite Things

I get a kick out off the things that entertain my son. And I find myself getting myself things that he likes too, cause I start to like them!

My son is 21 months old, and he definitely knows what he likes... :D Here are the biggest things!

Spiderman
He has a Spiderman bedspread, pjs, buildabear, tennis shoes, slippers, 6 posters, t-shirts, action figures, and probably a few others I can't think of. Spiderman is definitely his favorite.

Superman
He has a Superman action figure that is about as tall as him, pjs, window decals, a home made cape, and small action figures.

The Hulk
He doesn't have much Hulk stuff, as they really don't have to much around to get. But he sure likes him!

Batman
He has Batman pjs, and a few toys to go with it. Batman is the newest Hero in his circle.

The Backyardigans
All he has of The Backyardigans is a book mark of each character and all the tv he can watch (the entire show, seasons 1 thru 3 on Netflix live stream)

He also rocks out to music!!! His favorite music is rock and metal, as that is what my famuily listens too. (Read my husbands blog  Music=Life to hear what we jam to!)
I had a video, but it is not working at all, so no video of that, you'll just have to take my word on it!

The interests of my son have become my interests, as most moms can say happen. I have a Batman and Superman keychain (they used to be my DH's, but not anymore!!!) and sing the theme songs all day long.

Until next time!

Old Poetry

I used to write poetry a lot when I was in High School and for a little while after I graduated. Lately, I have not been writing very much, but I still read a lot of my stuff. Most of it, looking back, is very juvenial and young, but some I feel are still very good. I will occasionally post some of my favorite old poems, and this is my first "From the Vault" poem.

I wrote it when I was already out of high school, but I have to say this is the one poem I remember the least about writing. I was at a very hard time in my life emotionaly, and this is just what came out. Everytime I read it I get a different meaning out of it, and this poem is one that still resonates with me. I hope you enjoy it.

A Rant and A Rave
By Leigh Klesel March 5th, 2007

The definition of pain is the failure to act when you know you should.
A failure to get out and be able to start existing.
Without it the entire system would collapse into itself,
and the people would clamor the rooftops for more depravity.
What is true love and is it found or made?
I have the feeling but neglect to have the heart.
Rotten, black, hollow is the only way to describe my pain.
I wish he was here, I dont even know who he is, what he looks like.
I thought I did but that ended in tragedy for myself .
Where am I going,
sailing deeper into an abyss of sorrows,
I wish I could sing,
I would shake the foundations of this concrete jungle with sweet sounds of remorse and loss.
Broken is the recurring theme of my harrowed soul,
why must I be alone to carry a torch that has long since run out of fuel and flame?
Broken is the sound of collapse.
Broken is the feeling of neverending loss.
Broken by definition
is myself in a state of complete breakdown.
Where the hell am I?
Living between one dream and another.
This is not an existence.
This is sorrow at its most primitive form.
This is hell on earth and I am sitting right hand to the devil himself, holding his hate.
Lies to myself.
Lies to him.
Lies over love is this the way to go.
I should end it all.
Strike myself down for the uncleanliness is hard to distinguish between us.
Is there no end to this road.
Is there no end to my soul.
Is it even real?
Where am I?
This is not the world I was promised.
This is not the life that was envisioned.
Break free from these shackles of pain and remorse only to cut the lifeline of oneself in hope of a greater something.
The fear of a greater nothing is what keeps me in orbit through this miserable existence.
This will be my last stand.
for on this day I stand alone on a shrine of lies, hate, fear, and tears.
Tears have comforted me in the dark through a untold number of sleepless nights.
This will be the end of it all.
Darkness permits only darkness and I willl slumber into it.
Thank you to all that believe in me, even to this point of disparity.
Thank you to all who tried to help me.
It is now my turn.
I laughed, kissed, and attempted to love.
Life becomes at this moment ironic as I wright with one hand and send the hammer back with the other.
One Last irony.
One last laugh.
I'm exhasted.
I shall lie here forever alone.
For there is only myself to comfort me from this day fourth.

Introductions

You know some random facts about me, but the people you will see on here mostly are my family. So let me introduce them to you.

First, the love of my life, Josh. My husband.
He is my best friend.

We met through Myspace. Unbelievable as it is, its true. I had just moved to Austin a few months before and didn't know anyone, so I was making a lot of e-friends, and Josh and I talked a lot vie the web before we met in person. I didn't have a car at the time, so I was weary of meeting him, as he'd have to come to my house to pick me up. Our first date was August 12th, 2006 (yes I remember the date). After that day we have spent pretty much 80% of our time with each other (work and two break-ups being the 20%). I moved in with him after about a month of dating, and we have had two break-ups, both of us having done the breaking up once, and for trivial things we were able to quickly get through.
After two years of being together, we found out we were pregnant on August 12th, 2008 (literally two years, haha.)  We had not planned it, but welcomed it, as we knew we were going to get married and have kids someday. We were married on November 19th, 2008. It was a short amount of time to plan, but the wedding was perfect. Our son was born April 5th, 2009, and it has been the three of us ever since.

The next person to introduce is my son
Christopher James

(lots of pictures, all in chronological order.)

He was born April 5th, 2009. It was the biggest day of my life. I brought him into this world after 12 hours of pre-labor, 18 hours active labor, and 14 minuets of pushing. 7lbs 4oz and 21 inches long. Everyday since he was born has been harder, longer, and better then anything I have ever experienced. I have changed SO MUCH because of him and for him. I will do everything and anything for him.

I am now getting ready for his 2nd birthday (three months!!) and I can not believe how fast it has gone by. I look forward to everyday I get with him.

When he was 5 months old.

My family may be small, but we are everything to each other. I can't imagine my life without them, and I would never want to. We may have the same ups and downs many families face, but we are determined to overcome the obstacles, and we love each other never ending.

 There is also the extended family.
My side and my husbands side.
My mom, sister, and me.
My dad and me.
Please excuse me, I can't seem to locate the pictures of the rest of my siblings (I'm sorry Brittany, Sara, Anthony, and Corey).

My husband, son, me, brother-in-law Aaron, mother-in-law Julia, brother-in-law Calum, and father-in-law Donnie.

I love my family very much and wanted to introduce them to you. They will be in many of my blogs I am sure. Along with stuff about music, movies, and stuff I am writing. I look forward to blogging, and sharing with you my thoughts ect.!
